Bayou Red Recipes

Bayou Red Low Fat Salad Dressing

  • 1/4 Cup of low fat milk
  • 1 cup light sour cream cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Bayou Red Garlic Flavor hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Basil (dried)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley flakes

Mix sour cream, mayonnaise and milk in a large bowl. Mix all dried ingredients together and add Bayou Red. Combine all ingredients and stir well. Best if allowed to sit in refrigerator over night. Salad dressing will keep for two weeks.

Bayou Red Spicy Cajun Dip

  • 1 cup light sour cream
  • 2 to 3 tablespoon of Bayou Red Gourmet hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients together and stir or blend well. Allow to sit overnight for best flavor.

Bayou Red Cajun Bean Salad

  • 2 oz. Cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoon of Bayou Red Gourmet Hot Sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 slices of cooked chopped bacon, sausage, or ham
  • 1/2 lb. frozen or fresh purple hull peas

Cook peas in 3 cups of water until tender. Mix cottage cheese and mayonnaise together, add spices and garlic. Allow beans to cool and mix all ingredients together. Serve on a bed of lettuce with sliced tomatoes and sliced boiled eggs.
